Cadets play key role in Odisha’s bronze-winning campaign at the 16th Hockey India Sub Junior Women National Championship 2026

Bhubaneswar, April 2026: Odisha reaffirmed its growing dominance in Indian hockey as cadets fromthe Odisha Naval Tata Hockey High Performance Centre (HPC) played a crucial role in the stateteam’s Bronze Medal finish at the 16th Hockey India Sub Junior Women National Championship
2026, held in Ranchi, Jharkhand, from April 1–12.

Among the standout performers were HPC cadets Bishnupriya Sethi and Kiran Kujur, who
contributed significantly to Team Odisha’s impressive campaign. Demonstrating grit, coordination, and skill, the team delivered a strong performance in the bronze medal match, defeating Uttar Pradesh Hockey 4–2 to secure a podium finish.


The achievement highlights the robust training, discipline, and athlete development ecosystem at the Odisha Naval Tata Hockey HPC, which continues to groom young talent into competitive athletes at the national level. The centre has emerged as a vital pipeline for nurturing future stars of Indian hockey.


The management and coaching staff of the HPC congratulated Bishnupriya Sethi, Kiran Kujur, and the entire Odisha team for their commendable performance and team spirit throughout the tournament.
