Run to Protect Wildlife: Tata Steel Kapilash Half Marathon 2025 Awaits You!​

Tata Steel Meramandali (TSM), in partnership with the Dhenkanal District Administration, proudly announces the 2nd Edition of the Tata Steel Kapilash Half Marathon. This event, previously known as the Tata Steel Meramandali Half Marathon, is set to take place on January 11, 2025, offering participants the opportunity to run amidst the breathtaking buffer zone of the Kapilash Wildlife Sanctuary.

This half marathon aims to inspire a competitive spirit while promoting biodiversity conservation, particularly on elephant preservation in the ecologically rich Kapilash region. It seeks to position the area as a global destination for tourism and professional running. Additionally, the event emphasizes healthy living, fitness, and fostering a sporting culture among youth. The marathon features three categories: 21 km and 10 km races for participants aged 19 and above, and a 5 km run for boys and girls aged 14 to 19.

Registration and Rewards

Registrations for the marathon are now open and will close on December 15, 2024. Interested participants can register through the official website, www.tatasteelkapilashhalfmarathon.com. With a cap of 4,000 participants, registrations will follow a first-come, first-served policy. The entry fees are ₹400 for the 21 km race, ₹300 for the 10 km race and ₹150 for the 5 km run. All registered runners will receive a goodie bag containing a T-shirt, bib chip, and refreshments.

The event boasts a significant prize pool, with ₹9.64 lakh in cash prizes and trophies for the top 30 finishers. The winners of the 21 km category in both the men’s and women’s divisions will receive a top prize of ₹1 lakh each.
