Odisha Naval Tata Hockey High Performance Centre Finishes Runner-Up at 18th All India S. Balwant Singh Kapur Memorial Hockey Tournament
Odisha Naval Tata Hockey High Performance Centre (ONTHHPC), Bhubaneswar, delivered a commendable performance in the 18th All India S. Balwant Singh Kapur Memorial Hockey Tournament, securing the runner-up position. The final, held at the Olympian Surjit Hockey Stadium in Jalandhar, witnessed Roundglass Hockey Academy (RGHA) claim the title with a 5-2 victory.
The match began with RGHA’s Captain Jarman Singh converting a penalty corner in the fourth minute to give his team an early lead. ONTHHPC leveled the score in the second quarter through a penalty corner conversion by Adrohit Ekka. However, RGHA quickly regained the lead with a well-worked field goal by Mandeep Singh. ONTHHPC fought back once again in the 34th minute, as Bilkan Oram converted another penalty corner to bring the scores level at 2-2.
In the third quarter, RGHA’s junior international Gursewak Singh took charge of the game, scoring two goals within a minute to put his team firmly in control. Amandeep added the final blow in the 59th minute with a penalty corner, sealing the championship for RGHA.
