Bhubaneswar, April 22, 2026: Cadets of the Odisha Naval Tata Hockey High Performance Centre (ONTHHPC) played a starring role as Team Odisha emerged champions of the 5th Asmita Hockey League Junior Women, Final Phase, defeating Hockey Madhya Pradesh in a thrilling final.

The summit clash ended 1–1 in regulation time, before Odisha held their composure in the penalty shootout to register a 2–1 victory and lift the title.

ONTHHPC cadet Pabitra Hodam was the standout performer in the final, producing a remarkable display under the bar with four decisive saves in the shootout to guide Odisha to victory.

In all, five current ONTHHPC cadets, Pabitra Hodam, Janhabi Bada, Amisha Ekka, Doli Boi, and Ahalya Lakra, were part of the title-winning squad, underscoring the Centre’s strong contribution to the state team.

Adding to the achievement, ONTHHPC alumni Premshila Bage and Amisha Kullu, representing BSF (Border Security Force), also played important roles in Odisha’s successful campaign. ONTHHPC’s Assistant Coach (Women), Neha Singh, was part of the team’s Assistant Coach cum Manager during the tournament.

The victory once again highlights ONTHHPC’s growing impact in nurturing top hockey talent and strengthening the pipeline for Odisha’s continued success in women’s hockey.

Congratulating the team, ONTHHPC lauded the players, coaches, and support staff for their achievement, noting that the success reflects sustained effort, discipline, and the state’s rising stature as a hub for hockey excellence.
